A new house etched into the toe of a mountain, the Fishman residence takes basic elements of the surrounding landscape and incorporates them in a design that is in harmony with its context. Boulder retaining walls, emulating rock outcroppings found in the surrounding hills, help anchor the building and provide areas for natural plantings to occur.
Native grasses help transition the site into the surrounding landscape.
